This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. (1 John 1:5,6 ESV)

Life

Life, as we knew ten years ago, is not life today. Knowledge is indisputable at the forefront of many minds, especially our millennials. Time is now when careers are determined and education is sought carving paths to meaningful success. As important as knowledge is for the world’s definition of success, it’s most valuable in finding true peace in the world we live. Beginning with a key principle/foundational truth- God is light.

Darkness

Societal confusion stems from the blurred definition of right vs.wrong. In Christ, we are given Biblical Knowledge to guide and direct our steps, living to fulfill God’s purpose. When individuals say they have fellowship with Jesus, yet continue to live in darkness, societal confusion increases. Jesus himself spoke this to his disciples- it’s a lie and truth is not being practiced. Anyone who lies is aligned with the father of lies, satan.

Knowledge

The knowledge of good vs.evil is constantly at work in our lives. It’s like a gravitational pull towards one way or the other. To keep from evil, we study God’s Word, gaining knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. The more we learn, the deeper Spiritual Truths are understood. In the process, we become Christ minded easily anchored in good- avoiding pit falls into evil. We’re easily pulled toward evil when foundations have been ignored. What is evil/darkness? It’s anything opposing God’s original intention for creation defined in scripture.

Understanding

Saturday is a great day to relax and ponder…are we ready to identify darkness when revealed? My desire is to prevent individuals from being caught in darkness, being deceived- unaware how satan has blinded and separated many from understanding Biblical Truth. When seeking knowledge, let’s never forget the knowledge found in Christ. It will keep us grounded while gravitational pulls overwhelm towards evil, cleverly disguised.
