Have you ever hoped beyond all hope to find a friend or mentor who could help you figure out this thing called life? I have.

The moment I received my first mentor my life changed and I was never the same again.

Whether you have a mentor, can’t seem to find one, or haven’t even thought to look, you too can have a mentoring relationship that will help you grow into the person God created you to be.

You don’t have to do life alone. Through a godly mentoring relationship you can grow closer to God as you read His Word, pray and share your God stories.

There are many examples of mentoring in the Bible but let’s look at one today between Paul and Timothy found in First Timothy.

The Book of First Timothy focuses on mentors and leaders. Paul is writing to his young apprentice, Timothy with excellent advice, encouragement, training, and instructions that we can apply to our lives today.

My Podcast and ministry Face to Face Mentoring focuses on Mentoring Relationships with the next generation of believers. Paul and Timothy are a perfect example of how a mentoring relationship works according to Scripture.  Paul was willing to pour his life and time investing in Timothy for the Kingdom. He saw God’s potential, purpose and patience in this young new believer and made himself available to God to be used to minister to Timothy.

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

How about you? Do you have a mentor?

If not, are you praying for God to provide one for you?

Are you a mature godly person who knows Jesus Christ as their personal Savior? God is calling you to pour your time and faith into the next generation. Are you willing to step out in faith and ask God to guide you in this area of your life? The world needs godly Mentors.

Let’s read and dig into the book of First Timothy over the next seven days and answer some questions that apply to our daily lives. This book encourages all of us to be good examples to others. Regardless of your age, you are called to be a leader whether it is in the workplace, in your school or in the home. No Matter where God plants you and me, every believer is called to lead and be a good witness.

Do you have a “Paul” in your life?

Is there a “Timothy” in your life?

Ask God to open your heart, soul, and mind to His will for your life in this area and believe Him for an answer.

Be encouraged as you seek the Lord in a new mentoring relationship!
