“The Lord gives freedom.” Psalm 146:7

It is always good to reflect back on our roots, foundation and strong heritage with the words of the colonist, founding Fathers and past great heros and Presidents of the United States of America. Their words speak loudly for themselves. Freedom is given to us by God and the Bible is our ultimate guide for life.

“We submit our person, lives, and estates unto our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, and to all those perfect and most absolute laws of His given us in His Holy Word.”  Rhode Island Charter of 1683

“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.”  Patrick Henry, Revolutionary Leader and Orator

“A Bible and a newspaper in every house, a good school in every district-all studied and appreciated as they merit-are the principal support of virtue, morality, and civil liberty.”  Benjamin Franklin, Statesman, Inventor, and Scientist

“The first and almost the only book deserving of universal attention is the Bible. I speak as a man of the world…and I say to you, “Search the Scriptures.”  John Quincy Adams, Sixth President

“In regard for this Great Book, the Bible, I have this to say, it is the best gift God has given to man. All the good Savior gave to the world was communicated through this book.”  Abraham Lincoln, Sixteenth President

“In all my perplexities and distresses, the Bible has never failed to give me light and strength.” Robert E Lee, General of the Confederate Army

“If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we are and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may over whelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.”  Daniel Webster, Statesman, Lawyer, Orator and cousin to Noah Webster

“Hold fast to the Bible as the sheet anchor of your liberties. Write its precepts in your hears, and practice them in your lives. To the influence of this book are we indebted for all the progress made in true civilization, and to this we must look as our guide in the future. Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Ulysses S. Grant, Eighteenth President

“The Bible is the one supreme source of revelation of the meaning of life, the nature of God, and spiritual nature and needs of men. It is the only guide of life which really leads the spirit in the way of peace and salvation. America was born a Christian nation.”  Woodrow Wilson, Twenty-eighth President

“The strength of our country is the strength of its religious convictions. The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.”  Calvin Coolidge, Thirtieth President

“We cannot read the history of our rise and development as a nation without reckoning with the place the Bible has occupied in shaping the advances of the Republic. Where we have been the truest and most consistent in obeying its precepts, we have attained the greatest measure of contentment and prosperity.”  Franklin Roosevelt, Thirty-second President

“Inside the Bible’s pages lie all the answers to all of the problems man has ever known…It is my firm belief that the enduring values presented in its pages have a great meaning for each of us and for our nation. The Bible can touch our hearts, order our minds, and refresh our souls.” Ronald Reagan, Fortieth President

Dear God,

Thank you for the men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we have in this country today. I realize the greatest things I can do in their honor is to stand bold and brave today for You Lord, which will give You honor. I ask in the name of Jesus for revival in our land and for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts or all people that we will turn to You. Amen
