“With God nothing is impossible.” Luke 1:37

Are you an early morning person? Most of the time I am, but this morning I was moving slow. I could tell I needed an extra dose of energy and encouragement to get through the day. Words matter. I needed my own cheerleading squad in colorful uniforms with megaphones shouting, “You can do it! Don’t give up! Keep it moving girlfriend! “

I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down with my Bible and devotional. My agenda is full. The morning news is troubling as always. My prayer list for others is growing and serious.  I was looking for God to say, “ Jayme just forget it. Your schedule and multiple lists are impossible.”

While reading the devotional I came across a profound statement: “Don’t underestimate God’s ability to bring “impossible” things to pass.”

Isn’t that just like God to do the unexpected?
This was not random.
This was God using the devotional to speak to me.

Then the author ended the story with Luke 1:37 “Nothing is impossible with God.”
Again, God was encouraging me. This time He was using Scripture.

My husband and I finished our coffee and got down on our knees beside the couch and prayed. After we prayed, he went on his way to work and I finished getting ready to leave the house for my first meeting.

Ten minutes later, I received a text from my daughter. She encouraged me to listen to a new song she heard on iTunes. She thought this was the perfect theme song for my busy today. (She is my cheerleader, in full uniform and great shoes! I’m blessed with amazing children.) I played the song while driving to the first meeting.
Guess what? She was right!
In the middle of the chorus the lyrics were strong and clear: “Nothing is impossible with God.”
For a second time, God used my daughter and this song to encourage me.

Just to make things complicated, I had to take a detour on the way to my meeting. Detours can be time consuming and a bad thing.
I was wrong.
The detour was a good thing.
Driving through the downtown Nashville area, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
I had to pull the car over, stop and take a picture.

OK God! I get the message!

You guessed it. There it was again, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37
God was shouting with His megaphone loud and clear!

God has such a great sense of humor and gave me a thirty-foot banner on the side of a Parking Garage at St. Thomas Hospital  to remind me that His promises in the Bible are true.

Don’t miss the fact that God took me on a detour to show me His ENCOURAGEMENT BANNER.

Do you need encouraged today? Does it seem like you are on a bad detour?
Seek God continually. He is Trustworthy.
Ask God to reveal Himself to you. He is Faithful.
Read your Bible daily to learn about the ways of the Lord.
Pray. Be transparent with a real and living Savior.
Go through your day listening and looking for God. You won’t be disappointed.
God will show Himself to you in the most unexpected places.
Be encouraged. He did it for me and He can do it for you!
