On a recent trip with my husband, John, we were flying on American Airlines leaving Nashville on a muggy, dense foggy day. I was ready for a short get away. As Always, I was praying as the plane was taking off.

Lord, give us safety on this flight. Lately, God, I have felt like I’m in a fog just like the clouds outside this window. I need You. (sigh) Please help me. (deeper sigh) I need a redo on my outlook and peace of mind.

Can anyone relate?

Have you ever said,” I can’t see far ahead of me, fog and dark clouds block my view. I need a redo!”
What is scarier, the unknown of what’s ahead or not seeing right where you are?

John and I were sitting in an exit row looking out the window. We couldn’t see anything. Within minutes after take off, we broke through the clouds into a beautiful blue sky with the sun shining. The view of the thick clouds below us was breathtaking.
John knew I was struggling and lovingly leaned over and softly said, “Honey, we’ve got to remember this moment. When we are on the ground we couldn’t see this clear sky above the clouds. But God sees it all. We both need to look at things with God’s perspective.”

Hmmm. I’d been praying for God to show up in my day but I had no idea how that would happen. Over the years, one thing I have learned about God is I can always depend on Him to never disappoint me. God always reveals Himself. Today He used the clouds and John.

We both settled back into the seats and opened our books to read on the 2 hour flight. John was reading Louder Than Words: The Power of Uncompromised Living by Andy Stanley and I was reading The Comeback: It’s Never Too Late and You’re Never Too Far by Louie Giglio. Of course, God had a special message for me in both books. John leaned over again and shared what he was reading in Chapter 8 about fears and worries. Another “aha” moment to bless my heart. Thanks God!

God is constantly teaching me new things. How about you? Right now, He is teaching me lessons on how to see things with new eyes. Even my Mentor has been sharing her prayers over me to see things as God sees them. I’m so grateful for my godly Mentor who is my encourager and prayer warrior.

Do you have a Mentor?

A Mentor is gift from God to help and guide you and I through the tough blinding times of life. We were not created to do life alone. Your life will be blessed as you seek and find a godly Mentor.

Psalm 119:18 prayed, “Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your law.”

Is that your prayer?

John 9:5 “One thing I do know, although I was blind, now I see.”

Revelation 1:7 “Every eye will see Him.

Proverbs 20:12 “The ear that hears and the eyes that see—the Lord has made them both.”

Our perspective on life is very important. Every decision we will make and how we choose to live our lives will all be based on how we look at things.

I’m asking the Lord to help us see things as He sees them. This is not an easy request. We will make mistakes. We’ll need to daily refocus our eyes. On this earth, our sight is always going to be impaired but as we seek the Lord we can begin to have His perspective on things.

Be encouraged. With Christ anything is possible.

May God give you and I improved vision to see things and others with His heavenly eyes. With this new set of God glasses our entire Life will change for the better.

Psalm 17:8 “Protect me as the pupil of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings.”
