When was the last time you enjoyed the freedom to rest and be in the presence of the Lord? For more than over 200 years God’s promises have led our country in the past and present. The following quotes from the Founding Father’s remind us of the power of God’s Word truth and the deep need to have the American values of the past restored to the present and future.

“Every Word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.” Proverbs 30:5

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

George Washington 1752
…Let me live according to those holy rules which Thou hast this day prescribed in Thy holy word…
…Direct me to the true object, Jesus Christ the way, the truth and the life. Bless, O Lord, all the people of this land…

Thomas Jefferson 1781
…Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God?…

Benjamin Franklin 1782
…The worship of God is a duty; the hearing and reading of sermons may be useful; but, if men rest in hearing and praying as too many do, it is as if a tree should value itself on being watered and putting forth leaves though it never produce any fruit…

Patrick Henry 1775
…We are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power…Besides, sir; we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us…

The Founding Fathers who wrote the Declaration of Independence were passionate and courageous men. America has an incredible heritage. What a great way to CELEBRATE on Independence Day with a prayer of thanksgiving to God for our blessings and privilege to have the freedom to live in The United States of America.

2 Corinthians 3:17
“Now the LORD is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty.”

Isaiah 40:31
“They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be wary, and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Dear Lord,

You are the Great Almighty Creator God. Thank you for Your truth and the multiple freedoms we have as Americans citizens. Oh Lord, help me to seek your face and spend time praying for Your will to be done on earth! In Your name only do we pray,

Amen!
