Did you know that your iris has over 200 unique characteristics in its anatomical make-up and appearance? This is why iris scanners are being increasingly utilized in today’s world as recognition systems. Fingerprint recognition only allows for about 40 unique characteristics, making it less complex and less detailed than iris scanning. Your iris patterns are unique to you.

Iris patterns and fingerprints are not the only characteristics that make you unique. God purposefully made each and every one of us different and special.

Too many times, I see my fellow millennial friends diminish their self-worth for various reasons.

Maybe we think we don’t have the perfect height or body shape. Maybe we believe we don’t have the perfect relationships, or our family is dysfunctional at its core.

Can you relate?

I encourage you to not compare your life circumstances with the world or with each other. Don’t allow the world to dictate who you should be.

Don’t allow social media to brainwash you into jealousy, discontentment, or self-doubt.

I will honestly say that this is a struggle of mine, but I’m getting constant reminders of my blessings from Christ through prayer and from reading God’s Word, as well as from the support of my community of believers. I’m learning to tell myself, “Why compare”?

If you and I sit back for a few minutes and think about where God has placed us in life and what He has accomplished through us, we might begin to see and respect God’s love and confidence in us a little more.

Remember, He loves you for you.

God created you with over 200 unique iris characteristics, over 40 different fingerprint characteristics, thousands of hairs on your head, and breath in your lungs.

To compare and complain about how you have been created is to tell God that He failed and messed up with your life.

You are His perfect creation. Embrace your eye-dentity.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.  Psalm 139:14

“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16

Believe in who you were created to be. You were created in His image. God shows you and me unconditional love, and we can begin today living in that confident hope.
