“Then those whose lives honored God got together and talked it over. God saw what they were doing and listened in. A book was opened in God’s presence and minutes were taken of the meeting, with the names of the God-fearers written down, all the names of those who honored God’s name.” Malachi 3:16 (MSG)

Do you ever just pray a quick prayer and then run out the door with your busy schedule and forget to be watching for the Lord’s answer?

Last week, during my personal devotional time I ended with a very specific and simple prayer:

Lord, I want to be used by you to lead people to Christ.
Use me any way you want and help me lead someone to You today. Amen!

Without a second thought, I grabbed my purse and rushed out the door to run my errands and meet with a few women I mentor. While I was at the Farmer’s Market I ran into a woman I hadn’t seen for a long time and greeted her with my usual, “How are you and God doing?”

Before I knew it, we were in a long conversation catching up on life. God was really moving in her life and she was very excited to share all of her godly good news with me. We stood at the food stand for a very long time, laughing and celebrating all of the wonderful things God was doing in her life and mine. Before we said goodbye she encouraged me with a little thank you reminder, “Thank you so much for always caring and asking me how I’m doing with God. I didn’t realize how much I really needed to share my story with someone. God was so good to have you bump into me today! Thanks for always encouraging me to stay close to God.”

I responded with a smile, “No, the blessing was mine. God is good to use both of us in answering prayers!”

Do you enjoy sharing conversations about what the Lord is doing in your life? Do you share what you’re learning about the Lord even during the tough times?

God wants us to talk with each other about Him in the good times and the tough times. Did you know that God writes a book in heaven with all of our conversations about Him when we are with our friends? He does. Look at Malachi 3:16 listed above. This is such a great encouraging verse!

Mentoring is such a rewarding experience. Each mentoring moment we spend time talking with another person and sharing the goodness and fear of the LORD, He is listening and writes it down in a special book in heaven. Spending time with a close friend or family member or better yet, mentoring a younger woman of the next generation for Christ, pleases God. Your godly conversation is remembered and the LORD is taking notes.

Be encouraged. God is listening and loves to hear you giving Him the Glory and the Honor. As you mentor other young believers of the next generation may you fill many books in heaven with the conversations you have had on the fear of the LORD. Start sharing and mentoring today and you will be blessed.
