“…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.” Hebrews 12:1(NIV)

Our daughter had the most beautiful goldilocks curly hair when she was a toddler. No matter where we were people would stop us and comment on her beautiful curls. We’d always smile and say thank you but no one had any idea how hard it was to untangle those adorable but tight little curls.

The smiles turned to frowns and tears when it was time to comb her hair. The knots were extremely difficult to untangle so I waited for my sweet and gentle Mother to help me with my dilemma. My daughter was so much happier when her patient Grandma combed her hair and it didn’t bother me as long as the knots were removed. I love how she still remembers and treasures those special days with her Grandma.

Truth be told. You and I may look wonderful on the outside (or on our Facebook page or Instagram) but if anyone could look deep inside of us they would see something completely different. Most of us have knots in our lives that need to be untangled.

It may be that you are dealing with mental knots from anxiety or depression. You may need to be untangled from a bad relationship or bad habit in our lives. Some of us are feeling the stressful knots of worry about our career, your looks or your finances. Secretly you may be longing for some kind of relief and wonder if this mess will ever get untangled and taken out of your life.
I can relate my friend. Been there.

One thing I’m striving to do each day is “get out the way” and allow God to do the painful thing of untangling my stuff. My life has changed as I have witnessed God move in my life and in the lives of some many other people.

God has a plan for each one of us. He promises to walk alongside us in our deepest needs. God loves to be invited into our messes and knots.

You may be thinking, “Sure Jayme, that sounds great but I don’t even know where to start? How Can I Get My Life Untangled?”

Here are 3 ways to move forward and get untangled. Grab a Bible or BibleApp and read the verses below:

3 Simple Ways to Get Your Life Untangle

Return to God and allow Him to love you and guide you on a daily basis.

He took the penalty for my sin upon himself. Romans 5:8 (NLT)
He removed the shame of condemnation. Romans 8:1 (NLT)
He offers the power for us to change 2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)
Renew your heart.
God will give you a new and fresh heart Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT)
He will create in us a new heart Psalm 51:10 (TLB)
God places joy in our hearts Psalm 4:7 (HCSB)
Replace your old thoughts with godly thoughts & old friends with new godly friends
He will keep in perfect peace whose thoughts are turned to him. Is. 26:3 (TLB)
May spoken words and my thoughts be pleasing. Psalm 139:2,17,23 (TLB)
Older women guide the younger women to a closer walk with God. Titus 2 (NLT)

Today is a great time to invite God to start the untangling process.

We can’t do life alone.

We need to step out of the way and allow God to do his work in us. It is possible to be set free from the tangles that hinder us from being all that we were created to be.

Which knot is the first one you need to cooperate with God to untangle? Be encouraged. Don’t wait any longer. Invite God to begin today!
