“See, I am making all things new!” Revelation 21:5 (TLB)

Do you like the change of seasons? Students and families everywhere are shouting “Yahoo!”  June is here and summer has arrived.

It’s finally time to sit out on the backporch with a glass of Iced Tea and a refreshing bowl of fresh fruit.

June’s arrival means making plans for backyard barbecue picnics and dipping into Grandma’s homemade ice cream topped with fresh strawberries or Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Yummmm…..

The summer is another reminder of God’s beautiful creation. Flowers are in bloom and the birds are singing their God-given songs just for us to hear and to take a moment to give thanks to our great Creator God.

God’s creation is very valuable to Him. He doesn’t overlook or forget one flower or bird He has created. How wonderful to know as part of God’s creation, you and I are important to Him too.

Do you know how special you are to God?
Do you believe that God has a purpose and plan for your life?

The Bible tells us “What is the price of five sparrows? A couple of pennies? Not much more than that. Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And He knows the number of hairs on your head! Never fear, you are far more valuable to Him than a whole flock of sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7 (TLB)

God has a plan for us.God really cares about our struggles and sees our hurts. God is alive and active and at work in our lives. We are valuable to Him.

Another verse tells us about God’s activity, “ For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey Him, and then helping you do what He wants.” Philippians 2:13 (TLB)

The world tells us God is not aware, alert or alive.
The world tells us God doesn’t care about our lives.
The world is deceived and dead wrong.

I have learned from my life experiences that God is real and working all around me. There is never a day that goes by that I don’t see the hand of God working.

You may be wondering how can that be or how is that possible?

My daily routine starts with reading my Bible, spending a little time down on my knees praying to Jesus and asking the Holy Spirit to control my day and watch over my family. As I go through the day I continue looking for God and I join Him wherever He is working.

It could be something as simple as a conversation with a friend who needs encouraged or helping a Mom and her kids at the grocery line. Sometimes it is as simple as a smile or holding the door open for someone.
No matter what happens throughout the day, in the evening I’m always thankful to God for using me for His Kingdom. Every time I reach out to another person expecting nothing in return, I’m blessed and my joy grows to overflowing. (Expecting nothing in return is key!)

As we seek the Savior Jesus Christ and strive to walk in God’s ways He will reveal His love, purpose and plan for our life.
Our only assignment from God is to love Him with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength.

This summer is a great time to RESTART and make Jesus Christ our primary concern and focus in each day. What a great time to REFRESH and RENEW our walk with Him. As we focus on God’s Kingdom we will experience a FRESH joy and outlook on everything we face no matter what may come our way.

Try it. Begin your day with Jesus. Read your Bible (may I suggest reading Psalms first). Spend time on your knees praying. Hand your day and family over to the Holy Spirit and watch for where God is working and then join Him there. It will change your life. It’s changed mind.
