“God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God, so majestically enthroned, surveying His magnificent heavens and earth?” (MSG) Psalm 113:4-9

Many years ago during one of my Dad’s many visits to Tennessee, we had a summer picnic on our back porch. We decided to cook my Dad’s favorite food “the good ol’ hot dog and baked beans.”

I volunteered to make a quick run to the grocery store for the hot dogs and buns while the family hung out with Grandpa playing cards and making memories.

It had been a while since I bought Hot Dogs and I’d forgotten just how many brands of hot dogs we have to choose from. After a few minutes of looking back and forth at the different shelves in the store, I spotted a brand that caught my eye. I decided to choose the “Hebrew National” brand because of its bold slogan:

“We answer to a higher authority.”

I chuckled, “Hey, so do I!”
Of course, my curiosity converted me into a consumer and I bought the Hebrew National Hot dogs.

I have to admit the hot dogs were juicy and delicious.
So, here is today’s question: “What is your slogan?”

Do you answer to a higher authority?

If we strive to live authentic Christian lives who answer to a higher authority, we will look different to the world in a good and excellent way. When our lives are set apart for God, the world will see the difference.

Many blessings will be ours when we begin each day asking God in prayer to be our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We need the strength to trust in God wholeheartedly and hand over our daily lives to Him.

I can’t think of a better way to begin our summertime than to intentionally plan on Going Higher with the Lord.   Let’s go!
